At BMBS Acupuncture Brisbane and Sunshine Coast we use a very gentle Japanese Style of Acupuncture. To be able to offer this our team has firstly completed a 4 year degree in Health Science and Chinese Medicine, THEN completed a further 3 years of intensive training specifically in Japanese style Acupuncture. We study with our International teachers at least once a year to constantly update our skills.
Japanese Acupuncture is especially great for those with a phobia of Needles – there are many treatment options that don’t involve the use of needles. These strategies include the burning of tiny ‘Rice Grain’ sized pieces of ‘Moxa’ directly on the skin, as well as ‘contact needling’ from the Toyohari school of practice. We also use Cupping in our treatments if deemed necessary for the complaint, or if the patients specifically requests it. These techniques are pain free and extremely beneficial for those patients who are severely Fatigued and Run Down.
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine has proven to be the answer for a lot of conditions that haven’t responded well to other treatment methods. There are many instances where no material issues show up on X-rays or Scans, but there is still pain; where there are no abnormalities in blood tests, but there is still a sickness present – these are the instances where Acupuncture may really help!
Japanese Acupuncture
Japanese Acupuncture is a lesser known form of Acupuncture in the West, though it is rapidly becoming renowned for its clinical effectiveness, its subtlety & reduced discomfort compared to stronger needling techniques used in Chinese or TCM style Acupuncture.
Toyohari & Kiiko Style Acupuncture
These specialised forms of Acupuncture involve taking the Pulse & palpating the Stomach (Hara) to determine which channels and organs need re-balancing through treatment of certain points. The treatment often involves the use of Gold, Silver or Stainless Steel needles and/or Moxa to stimulate the flow of blood at ‘alive’ or ‘active’ points on the body.
Acupuncture For Kids
Children tend to respond exceptionally well to Acupuncture, Herbal and Moxibustion treatment. Using subtle techniques, stimulating points without the use of needles, and/or utilising herbs, we can help restore your child’s health. Cold & Flu right through to more chronic issues!
